Our Safety & Compliance Service
Safety Compliance
Scaffolding and work at heights has historically been a leading cause of safety incidents. Following safety protocols and carrying out regular checks on scaffolding structures is essential to ensuring everyone’s safety while working on site.
In Australia, these standards are set out in comprehensive guides and codes of practice provided by Safe Work Australia that dictate how scaffolding should be erected, inspected, and maintained. Inspections ensure the scaffolding can support the required loads and is fit for purpose, safeguarding the workers and the public.
Safety Inspections
Prior to commencing an inspection, our team will allocate a Licensed Scaffolder individual who will be responsible for the onsite inspection.
Handover Certificate
Prior to opening up a scaffolding structure for trades to start their work, a handover certificate will be generated. This type of certificate ensures that our structure has been completed to code and has the required specifications.
Post-Handover Inspections
All scaffolds where the top working platform is at 4m or above are required to be inspected and re-certified every 30 days, at a minimum. Our team at Reliable Access have a thorough understanding of all relevant Australian standards and the VIC state legislation to be able to competently conduct these inspections. Inspections can also occur more often especially when it’s a large structure or there have been extreme weather conditions.
After every inspection, a record of all findings in the scaffold’s logbook or equivalent documentation system, should be kept on site for the length of the project. These records will include the date of the inspection, details of any faults identified, corrective actions taken, and the name, signature and qualifications of the inspector.
Compliance
Effective compliance management in scaffolding inspection ensures that all scaffolds meet the necessary safety standards and regulations. It is vital to maintain thorough records and to have a clear process for incident reporting and investigation.
Reliable Access conduct regular inspections on our scaffolding to ensure it is in good working condition and safe to use when in storage.
All our scaffold designs and installations are complaint to the following standards:
- AS/NZS 1576.1 – Scaffolding General Requirements
- AS/NZS 4576 Guidelines for Scaffolding
